We are seeking our next Executive Director—a relationship-builder, community advocate, and strategic champion who will work closely with our music director and board-driven organization as we move into an exciting new chapter. Because this role is deeply rooted in our community, face-to-face connection is everything; therefore, this position is strictly on-site in Idaho Falls and is not conducive to remote work. The Role: Your Opportunity to Inspire
As our Executive Director, you will act as the chief administrative officer, working together with the new Music Director, an actively engaged Board of Directors, a dedicated staff, and brilliant musicians. You will bridge the gap between financial sustainability and creative excellence, ensuring that live orchestral music remains accessible to everyone in our community.
Key Areas of Impact
- Creative Programming and Audience Development: Act as the welcoming public face of our Symphony. You will work hand in hand with the Music Director to design creative programming to please first-time concertgoers and musical virtuosos. The Executive Director will manage and promote outreach programs and build new education and performance opportunities for the region.
- Community, Cultural Arts and Sponsorships: Build genuine, lasting relationships. You will honor and preserve the trust of our treasured legacy donors while enthusiastically identifying and recruiting new sponsors, both large and small. The Executive Director must have a proven track record of fundraising.
- Operational & Artistic Stability: Create and manage budgets, grants, and staff to provide long-term stability now and for years to come. Empower and engage in a highly passionate, board- driven culture, and work seamlessly with the incoming Idaho Falls Music Director.
- Strategic Marketing, Development and Outreach:Collaborating on innovative marketing ideas, grants, and programming to reach a wide regional audience.
Who You Are
- A Relationship Builder First: You have a natural gift for interpersonal communication and a proven track record in non-profit management, fundraising, or community development with integrity. You have experience leading staff and identifying employees’ strengths.
- An Innovative Thinker: You look beyond the box office. You are excited to help design and test modern intake pipelines.
- Well Educated: You possess an education that prepares you to lead. Four-year degree or more preferred.
- A Champion for the Arts: While you don't need to be a musician, you have a deep appreciation for the cultural arts and understand their economic and social value to a thriving region like Eastern Idaho.
