IF Symphony Executive Director Stepping Down
For the past four seasons, the Idaho Falls Symphony has been expertly guided by Executive Director Alekzandria Peugh. Since moving to Idaho Falls in January of 2018, Alek has worked tirelessly to upgrade the organization’s operations, generate a more robust media presence, and expand the staff. With the onset of the global pandemic, she was responsible for pivoting the Symphony online, and she secured numerous federal relief grants that have proved essential to securing the future of the Symphony beyond the pandemic.
For personal reasons, Alek has decided to step down from her role as Executive Director, effective October 30th. She has graciously offered to continue advising the organization during the leadership transition. In the coming weeks, the Idaho Falls Symphony’s Board of Directors will undergo a regional and national search for their next Executive Director.
“Working with Alek has been an absolute joy,” remarks Music Director Thomas Heuser. “She has made a lasting impact on the Symphony, and I will greatly miss her partnership. Because of her remarkable skill set, we weathered the pandemic in a truly innovative way, and I would say she has made us a more productive and professional orchestra. We wish Alek all the greatest success in the next chapter of her career.”
As the Symphony begins the search for Alek’s successor, there are big shoes to fill. The ideal candidate will be an energetic individual who is familiar with the Southeast Idaho community. Their passion for the performing arts and music education should be matched by exceptional skills in the multi-faceted field of nonprofit management. The Executive Director works full time with the Music Director and Board of Directors to implement a vision for the organization that puts a premium on integrity, excellence, and community.
More information about the Executive Director position with the Idaho Falls Symphony will be made available in the coming days through the League of American Orchestras and local media sources, and will be managed by BBSI of Idaho Falls.
