IFS Holds Annual Fundraising Gala: Starry Night on February 9
The Idaho Falls Symphony proudly announces the annual Fundraising Gala, with a theme of Starry Night, to be held on February 9th at the Hilton Garden Inn. The event brings back the Mike Banks Quartet, live and silent auction, dinner, and dancing to support the Symphony’s mission to provide quality, live orchestral experiences of the world's great music for the enjoyment, enrichment, and education of our audiences and musicians. Each year this gala brings in approximately 10-15% of the Symphony’s income, and also serves as a great opportunity to mingle and party with other supporters of live, local music!
The event starts at 6:00pm with a cocktail hour so guests have time to peruse the silent auction, a collection of approximately forty items ranging from trips to Boise to hundreds of dollars in local restaurant gift cards to a wagon full of liquor donated by the Board of Directors, musicians, and Gala Committee! Dinner starts at 7:00pm, and then the live auction hosted by Mario Hernandez and Mick Ohman will give guests the chance to vie for the coveted wine tree, a weekend in a townhouse in Driggs, the chance to conduct the Idaho Falls Symphony at the Concert in the Park, and more! Desserts are bid on through donations, and then the evening turns over to the Mike Banks Quartet for dancing.
“The committee has been working hard to plan an outstanding event, as always, and I’m so excited to see everyone come together to support the symphony,” comments music director Thomas Heuser. “Not only is this a very effective fundraising event, it’s a fun party that allows our supporters to get to know each other outside of the concert hall.”
Tickets are $125 per person. Reservations must be made in advance of the event, no later than Friday, February 1. Please contact the Idaho Falls Symphony office at 208-529-1080 to purchase tickets. Dress for the event is formal with thematic outfits encouraged!
