Mariachi Christmas!
IF Symphony Celebrates a Mariachi Christmas
Celebrate the Christmas season with the Idaho Falls Symphony and a unique new concert, A Mariachi Christmas, planned for Saturday, December 16th, at 7:30pm in the newly-minted Frontier Center for the Performing Arts.
Music Director Thomas Heuser and the IF Symphony will be joined by Mariachi Champaña Nevin, an exceptional group of Mariachi specialists led by trumpeter Jeff Nevin. The program focuses on La fiesta de la Nochebuena, with traditions from the Mexican Christmas Eve celebration blending with well-known carols and songs sung in both English and Spanish. Acclaimed Mexican soprano Monica Abrego will be featured in the spotlight as the concert’s leading vocalist, alongside Nevin on trumpet, the band of Mariachi musicians, and the full Symphony orchestra. The program’s Latin flair adds energy and vitality to the Symphony experience.
Enjoy a free pre-concert conversation called Prologues, starting at 6:30pm, with insights about the evening’s program provided by Thomas Heuser. The concert begins at 7:30pm, with tickets ranging from $20 to $45. Discounts are available for students.
