The Search Series VI

The Idaho Falls Symphony’s Search Series VI features the final candidate in our Music Director Search season alongside Idaho Falls Symphony Principal Trumpet Andrew Allphin performing Aleksandr Arutiunian’s dazzling Trumpet Concerto.

A celebrated performer and educator, Allphin joined the faculty at Brigham Young University–Idaho following a distinguished career with The United States Army Band “Pershing’s Own” in Washington, D.C. During his service, he performed at nationally significant ceremonies and concerts, including presidential inaugurations and the funerals of Presidents Ronald Reagan and Gerald R. Ford. He has appeared at renowned venues including the Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center, and the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing, China.

Known for its brilliance, lyricism, and virtuosic flair, Arutiunian’s Trumpet Concerto is one of the most beloved works in the trumpet repertoire and provides the perfect showcase for Allphin’s artistry and musicianship.

Join us for an exciting evening celebrating exceptional talent, powerful performances, and the culmination of the Idaho Falls Symphony’s search for its next Music Director.
