Season Ticket subscribers are first in line to reserve their preferred seats at the Idaho Falls Civic Center for the Performing Arts (IFCCPA). Prices range from $20-$55, which offers substantial savings off the price of individual tickets. Renewals begin May 17th, with new season tickets going on sale on May 30th. Season Tickets can be purchased by calling the Idaho Falls Symphony office at 208-529-1080 during regular office hours.

“We are delighted to offer such an incredible musical experience,” remarks Dr. Heuser, who is entering his 13th season as Music Director of the Idaho Falls Symphony. “Every program is designed to have an impact on our listeners and musicians, with provocative themes and countless musical connections. We invest so much energy in every show, there is a palpable electricity between the musicians that radiates out into the concert hall. You can experience the reverie all season long; everyone is invited to dream!”

To kick things off the season, bring your lawn chairs and picnic baskets for the annual Symphony in the Park, a free concert on Saturday, September 16th, 2023, at 5:30pm in scenic Freeman Park. This year will be a celebration of “Broadway in the Park,” offering a mix of contemporary and classic favorites from the Broadway stage. The concert is a partnership between the IF Symphony and the Idaho Falls Youth Arts Centre. Broadway in the Park is free for the entire community–mark your calendars!

Masquerade by acclaimed British composer Anna Clyne was written to entertain the sedate to the salacious! In that vein, we can’t wait to present a “Symphony Masquerade” on Saturday, October 14th, 2023, at 7:30pm in the IFCCPA. Audiences can expect some fun with a concert experience designed to match the flamboyant Sorcerer’s Apprentice and the captivating Enigma Variations of Sir Edward Elgar.

“American Voices,” on Saturday, November 18th, 2023, at 7:30pm in the IFCCPA features Guest Conductor Julia Tai, who will make history as the first woman to lead the Idaho Falls Symphony! Principal Flute Nadine Luke steps out of the orchestra and into the spotlight with Lowell Liebermann’s Flute Concerto, and Dvorak’s beloved New World Symphony pairs with a set of upbeat dances by American icon Florence Price.

The Symphony invites you to celebrate “A Mariachi Christmas” on Saturday, December 16th, 2023, at 7:30pm in the IFCCPA. Experience heartfelt music from the traditional Mexican Christmas Eve – Las posadas – with Mariachi Champaña Nevín, featuring favorite holiday melodies with full orchestra and a Latin flair! The celebrated Mexican soprano Monica Abrego returns to the Idaho Falls Symphony, along with the mariachi musicians and their dynamic leader, composer and trumpeter Jeff Nevin.

“Cirque de la Symphonie” returns to the Idaho Falls Symphony on Saturday, February 17th, 2024, at 7:30pm in the IFCCPA. With Maestro Heuser and the full orchestra ripping through a full concert of energetic, virtuosic favorites, the astounding cast of Cirque performers will deliver the show of a lifetime–the 19th annual EIRMC Red Dress Concert! Jugglers and acrobats combine with amazing feats of strength, balance, and magical visuals to create the most thrilling Symphony spectacle you can imagine.

The Idaho Falls School of Ballet returns to the stage with the Idaho Falls Symphony for “A Night at the Ballet'' on Saturday, March 16th, 2024, at 7:30pm in the IFCCPA. The program explores the intersection between music and dance, featuring the 1919 Suite from The Firebird by Igor Stravinsky and Tchaikovsky’s Suite from Swan Lake, which offers some of ballet’s finest and most refined music. The spectacle of dancers and orchestra will overlap in stunning combinations, and the collaboration features professionals working alongside students, presenting new and classic choreography.

For the season finale, Music Director Thomas Heuser will take audiences inside the score of “Symphonie Fantastique” on Saturday, April 27th, 2024, at 7:30pm in the IFCCPA. Dr. Heuser will explore the self-destructive passions and psychology of Berlioz’s transformative masterpiece from 1830; psychedelic obsessions and a fixated love interest drive the intrigue of this huge work that changed the landscape of Symphonic music. The program also features the flashy and virtuosic Trumpet Concerto of Alexander Arutunian, featuring IFS Principal Trumpet Andrew Allphin.

Education efforts are central to the upcoming Symphony season. Most notably, the IFS plans to launch a partnership with Carnegie Hall’s LinkUp Program, which provides a free music curriculum to participating schools. The students will learn the music, attend a live Symphony concert during their school day, and participate in the performance! The program will target fourth grade students throughout the Southeast Idaho region.

Concerts of the Idaho Falls Symphony Youth Orchestra and Preparatory String Orchestra ensembles continue to be free for the community and open to all ages, thanks to generous sponsorships from the community. These ensembles represent the dedication and incredible talent that exists among our local students, and they provide performance opportunities that strengthen and bolster the confidence and musicianship of all participants. Families are invited to attend and witness the students in action!

The newly minted “Soundscapes” series offers diverse and intimate concert experiences that strengthen the connections between our audiences and performers. Hosted by The Downtown Events Center in Idaho Falls, the series includes three concerts that are packaged separately from the six subscription Symphony concerts. There will be a “Silent Film Festival” in late October; a performance by the celebrated “Colour of Anyhow” duo in January; and a highly-anticipated “Young Artists Competition Alumni Showcase” to close out the Soundscapes series in April 2024.

We're excited for you to join our Reverie!
